Ang Tambayan is back! Yeah!! \m/

It’s been awhile since I haven’t posted any updates on my blog. As I can see, my last post was June 5, 2006: Wanna Play Badminton? Whew! That’s almost 5 months old post!!! So, you might be asking Me; what I did, where I have been, how’s life, work, lovelife?? Hmmmp, I got one good story. (oops, I heard someone saying…”who cares?” is it ozzie?). But really just for the sake of my online friends I will post what I’ve been through in the past 5 months.

Let’s start with the month of May.

I arrived May 02, 2007 in Davao City and I was met by my ex-boss back in Cagayan, a very good friend and an Ate. She’s still single but I believe that her heart belong to someone else’s. So, I encourage you not to try. She picked me up at the Ecoland Bus Terminal and headed directly to SM carrying my two BIG bags. My first comment upon arrival in Davao City was that “ang pangit naman ng taxi nila”. Yes, honestly! You can’t blame me; I came from a city where taxis are good looking, Cagayan De Oro City. I know it’s not the transportation that describes the place …but the people’s character that matters…and I strongly believe and found out that truly Davaoñas/os are friendly and cool to be with. Back to SM. My first lunch here in Davao was in Dencio’s Grill at SM, and my friend told me to keep the receipt coz it will bring me luck. No comment. Then, we went to the office and talked to the HR Director. Then after the office we headed to my boarding house located at #53 Ponce street corner Guerrero Street, that’s near Gian’s Breakfast Club: All day breakfast! (try mo swexie)Yeah! You don’t need to wonder why I mentioned breakfast club on my blog. I lived near by the store. So, that’s it! Hehe.

June, the interactive month

As I remembered, my routine was work and boarding house. No friends. No gimmicks. And most of my time if not at work, I went to internet café – NetExpress to chat, I no longer play online games. When chatting, my favorite channel were #Dumaguete, #Silliman, #CDO, #Cagayan and then the #Davao channel. Where I knew Blush, Redsun, unsub, Danielle, Francine, Adik_f and some cool mIRC chatters, not to mentioned the bot - SIKYO. The month of June was not that bad after all. Oh! By the way, I already met them in person just last November 10, they’re really cool and friendly! Thank you guys for the food and beer! Actually, that was the birthday celebration of unsub and blush. Who’s asking my nick? BTW, I am Ironjack in the mIRC channel.

So, here comes July the month of bountiful and fun.

My officemates are friendly, they knew that I’m new in the city and they started inviting whenever there’s an occasion or gimmicks. When I say "gimmick" it means "tagay". Hehehe. I am not a drunkard ok? I only drink just enough to satisfy my thirsty body. Know your limitation…that’s the rule. The entire month of July was really fun; I even met the HR director of STI, Davao city. She’s cute and friendly. You want to ask her number? How about her Skype Id? Read my lips …. BLeeeeeH! Haha!

The month of August, busy!

The company where I’m working for was accepting try-outs and OJTs and all those applicants were sent all to my department. I am not the department head, I’m just the Team Lead but because there’s no department head of the moment, I acted one. I really enjoyed teaching interested individuals and seeing them applied their knowledge.

And of course, gimmick has it’s time.

Wake me up when September ends

It wasn’t a good month for me. I didn’t remember anything, but for sure I worked to the bones. So, September ends so quickly.

Now, October comes. First time is always fun.

As I could remember, and it’s still fresh in my memory that I attended a birthday party of Ms. Lelit, drinking session at C5 twice a week with my new friends: Juvy, Christian, Adz and Yen (my crush) she’s cute, beutiful, sexy, smart and a registered nurse working in Samal. Watching movies with my friends, playing billiards at Blue Post I at Ponciano Street. Yes AlRitch, I joined the MBS1 – First Mindanao Bloggers Summit. It was held at the NCCC mall and participated by more a hundred of bloggers and walked-in personalities. I even met my ex-bosses there, Mr. Michael Turner, the owner of HarvestSEO.com and the president of StickyMediaSolutions.com, Mr. Gus Rodano. There are lots of talks and discussion about blogging, how to make money out of blogs and how to promote Mindanao using your blogs and give aways. I won a Free Hosting for a year courtesy of BlitStop Network. The event was very successful, thanks to the sponsors and coordinators, The Usual Suspects.

That’s all for October, let’s move to November.

November the promising month

Last November 02, I went to Paradise Island, Samal. I was with my friend, HR Manager of Hubport Interactive, Inc. with his wife and brother-in-law. I was really amazed by the white sand (of course I’ve been to a beach in Siquijor Island), the magnificent view and the clear blue water of the sea. We arrived there early in the morning at around 6:30Am and they’re already people there ahead of us, foreigners and locals.

The entrance fee in Paradise is only 90.00 pesos. Not bad, huh! The cottage is free. If you brought fish to grill, there’s a place. There’s also a restaurant there and if you’re bringing foods with you, you’re restricted to sit down on the restaurant’s section, UNLESS you won’t eat your “baon”. Hehe. I would suggest that if you’re with your family, you’d better bring “baon”, the price there is quite expensive.

If you are planning to stay overnight, there are also houses with your choice. Just make sure to book ahead time so that you’ll get one, they’re fully book especially during holidays. What else I can share? Oh, they have billiard tables, table tennis (ping-pong), volleyball court and badminton court.

Then last November 08, I flew to Manila just for an interview. Astig noh!? The company shoulder all the expenses, round trip ticket Davao – Manila, Manila – Davao. It was fun…and that was my first time. Yeah! First time is always fun, dbha?

And also, I mentioned above that I met the mIRC chatters last November 10.

I guess that’s all! If you have any comments, feel free to post it here. Thanks…

Last sunday, I was invited by my boss - HR to play badminton. I can’t say no… not because he is my boss but becuase I am interested to join but hesitant because I don’t have a racket and I don’t know him well. hehe. But that is no longer the problem because my boss told me that he has an extra racket for me to use. great! So, I got very excited! It was still 2PM in the afternoon and we were playing cards with my boardmates, I quitted the game and packed up my stuffs, towel, extra shirt, my shoes, rubbing alcohol, and my fav body spray. The game will start at 4PM - 6PM @ Holiday Spa, F. Torres Street.

3:50PM I departed from my place and went to the Holiday Spa, there I met my boss and his wife and bunch of friends. And my excitements went down to the lowes level..because I was thinking, this is not good! I am not the type of person who really mingles with someone or to somebody with above my level (looks and standards)…you know what I mean? right! hehehe…But I was relieved because they’re friendly and cool. (two thumbs up!)

First match was a doubles. My partner was my boss and our oppenents were his wife and a friend. As expected I enjoyed the game. I runned, jumped, smashed but misses mostly. hehehe. It’s was a great game. *whew*

And the place is good. There is a swimming pool on the left side on the entrance, and inside is a WIFI zone area, on the back is the Gym and on the right side of the entrance is the old badminton courts.(assuming that I went to the areas I mentioned..hehehe). The rate of the court per hour is 120.00pH and it’s rubberized and there’s also a small canteen that sells water, juices and sodas in case you forgot to bring your water with, like what had happened to me. hehehe.

So guys, if you are looking for tambayan during your free time, Holiday Spa in F. Torres street Davao is the place for you!

I would like to share with you some of my favarite tamabayans here in Davao City. So, my friends there in Bawayan City, Dumaguete City and Cagayan de Oro City…check this out! The place where I ate breakfast, lunch and sometimes dinner (meron na nga akong suki-card,waaa! just kidding!). It’s only small but safe and clean cafeteria or should I say a small eatery. (Sorry, If I don’t have the correct term of describing it *winks*). The cafeteria is located at Ponce Street corner Guerrero street, Davao City and It’s a WIFI zone area. WOW! so, while eating or waiting for your orders you could surf the net or chat with your friends using your laptop (just don’t bring your desktop, ayt? that would occupy bigger space! hehe.). Now, let’s talk about the food they served. It’s more likely a "Tapsi" you know what I mean? ummp, I guess you do but I still want to describe it.

The Beef tocino w/ rice, Ham cubes w/ rice and more but the "Pork Tocino with rice" and with an egg is my all time favarite. Umm, yummy! They also served drinks, but no liquors! Coffee, Ice tea, cola and juices. The service is good, it would not take long to serve your orders. The place is clean! and it’s an open air. You know the place am taking about? - Gian’s D’Breakfast Club! Yes, it is! So, if you’re looking for a place with a great and quality service, visit Gian’s D’Breakfast Club. Now, I am advertising them…I hope the owner would find this blog and give me some credits on saying good comments to their services..Haha! or maybe a FREE breakfast meal! sana! haha!

So guys, what are you waiting for? Tambay na sa Gian’s D’Breakfast Club.
